Reduce Plastic Waste Scheme 2020

Dear Customer and Suppliers

Stanley Organics Ltd has come up with a new scheme to help reduce our use of plastic packing, our team would like to stop dumping plastic into the landfill. This is because the plastic bags are biodegradable which makes it so the bags take a long time to break down under certain conditions which aren't great long term solutions. A member of a team has helped us with this scheme and has written some brief notes about it.

Here are somethings that we wish to change:

* All plastic bags are to be replaced with hessian bags which are made flax and hemp fibers, first bag free with purchases over $50 or we will provide recycled cardboard boxes and will also help carry them to your car.

* Most liquid products (liquid soap, shampoo, dishwashing liquid, etc) now available in 'fill your own' containers. bringing your containers to fill will get you a 5% discount.

* Fresh vegetables - instead of plastic bags, try re-useable waxed cotton bags to keep food fresh.

We thank you for taking the time to read our new scheme, we would like to hear any feedback about how we could improve this to make the community a better place.

Kind regards
Judith and Barry Sampson

Instruction

From: Meg Teke

Subject: Fire Drill Instructions

Kia ora everyone,

We have new instructions on fire drills about what is suppose to happen when the fire alarms go off, this is because some staff didn't know what to do in the recent drill so with the information I have been told I set some instructions about what should happen in a fire event, please take note of the following instruction.

1. When the fire alarm sounds everyone is to immediately evacuate the building using the fire exits
2. Once outside the building, everyone is to assemble in the car park and no one is to leave the area or go back into the building until the fire safety officer gives the all-clear

Hopefully, this helps out because the recent fire drill that happened there was a confusion on what was supposed to happen when the alarms went off, so preventing that from happening again these instructions have been put into place for everyone's safety.

Cheers,
Meg Teke

Re: Review of the recycling program

As I have been appointed as the supervisor of the kitchen recycling I would like to talk about some issues.

* The rubbish bins have been used correctly
* I have been getting positive feedback from the staff about the new system
* Some staff have said that it is a waste of time but also follow the rules
* The food bin needs to be empty more often because it becomes smelly
* There is some confusion about which plastic can be recycled

Based on the feedback from the staff I believe that there should be someone who empties the food more often so it doesn't get smelly in the kitchen, also there should be a sign showing what plastic can be recycled and which can't be recycled. But from the positive feedback that some staff has said about the program is that they seem to like it and think its a great thing.
